World Bank and the Namibia Statistics Agency release a report on distributional Impact of fiscal policy in Namibia

Namibia’s fiscal policy lifts 118 thousand people out of poverty and cuts the rate of severe poverty by nearly a quarter, according to a joint report by the World Bank and the Namibia Statistics Agency. Namibia’s system of taxes and social spending tends to benefit its poorest citizens the most, while tax revenues tend to come from the richest 10 percent of the country’s citizens.
